THE CROW by Saniose
Official Alternative Movie Poster
Project Description:
Few films have left such a powerful mark on gothic cinema as The Crow. Directed by Alex Proyas and based on the comic by James O’Barr, the film blends tragedy, love and vengeance into a haunting visual world that has become truly iconic.
For this project I wanted to capture the emotional core of Eric Draven’s story — a figure suspended between life and death, driven by love and guided by the mysterious crow that leads him back to the world of the living. The artwork places Eric at the center of a rain-soaked city, surrounded by darkness, fire, and memory. The composition plays with the contrast between shadow and light, echoing the film’s themes of grief, resurrection and redemption.
Rain, urban decay, and the solitary silhouette of the crow become visual symbols of the journey Eric must complete. Each element was carefully designed and painted to evoke the atmosphere of the film while offering a new visual interpretation rooted in the tradition of classic illustrated movie posters.
The poster was released by Mad Duck Posters as a limited edition screenprint in three different versions, each exploring a distinct mood through color, texture, special screen-printing techniques, and unique papers.
